Due to the impact of COVID-19 I have been remotely hosting a Quality, Safety and Environmental surveillance audit - this was also a new experience for the certification auditor. Opening and closing meetings were conducted via Skype, as were top management interview, and process surveillance. Verification of compliance was achieved by a combination of screen sharing, Skype discussion, and documentation exchanges. Not forgetting a site tour using FaceTime. Aberdeenshire couple donate over 400 items of food to Aberdeen Cyrenians

An Aberdeenshire couple have made their annual donation to Aberdeen Cyrenians to help those in the city area affected by homelessness this Christmas. Geoff Cutler, and his wife Sue, directors of Quality, Health and Safety, and Environmental consultancy Q Tech Solutions Ltd collected over 400 items from their local ASDA supermarket in Portlethen. Store staff were more than happy assist by picking and scanning the large list of items that totaled 411 and cost £252.08. The Department for Transport (DfT) has opened a consultation to seek the views and feedback from interested persons on the approach they propose to take to implement the carriage of dangerous goods regulations (RID, ADR and ADN) once the UK has departed the European Union (“exit day”). The clock is ticking for organisations currently certified to ISO 9001:2008 or ISO 14001:2004. Certification to these standards will cease to be valid in September 2018.
